Slightly Biased Tumblr

Right Stuf haul.  I forgot that volume 4 was out of stock!  Luckily one of the stores in the area has it, I should be able to snap it up on Friday. 

Amazon.jp haul.  I shouldn’t be this excited about getting volumes of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, BUT I AM.  You Higuri and est em are only there so that the manliness doesn’t bust out of the box completely.

Some Viz stuff, and a Dark Horse book from the Right Stuf.  Kimi ni Todoke and We Were There are good for the girliest one-two punch current manga titles can deliver.

Comic shop haul, US/DC side.  The usual New 52 suspects, plus some Saucer Country and a couple issues of Captain Marvel stuff that came out last year I somehow missed completely.  Plus the Justice League, since the good Captain is now running backup.

Captain Marvel is my favorite. <3 It’s a shame they haven’t quite captured the charm of the 50s and 70s stories in modern times.  But he and Jonah Hex are my favorites among the DC characters.

Comic shop haul, which includes all the recent 2000AD stuff.  A shame that the new weekly schedule for the US doesn’t seem to extend to my comic shop, but reading all of it at once is still fun. 

This included a 35th anniversary prog with a nice poster.  More importantly, that American Reaper cover is probably my favorite cover illustration… ever.  So unusual.

The Mad Fold-In Collection.  I had no idea this existed until it was nominated for an Eisner.  As soon as I saw it, I impulse bought it.  I can’t afford it, but goddamn, look at this thing.

If my apartment caught fire, and I couldn’t replace any of my books, I would grab this, Jojo a GoGo, and Kazuma Kaneko Illustrations I.  Those three are probably the nicest books I own.

Amazon haul.  I need to catch up on Gen, which is a fine publication.  I do appreciate what they’re trying to do.  Also, American Vampire YES.  And the last volume of Golgo 13 in English that I needed.

Right Stuf haul.  New Beginnings was from the bargain bin, I think.  I don’t really have high hopes.  X, however, is one of my absolute favorites of all time, and I couldn’t be happier with the new editions.

I tend to love westerns in any form, so it was driving me crazy that I couldn’t get my hands on any of the English volumes of Blueberry, a western drawn by Moebius.  The wait was worth it.  I only wish this could get a re-release in English.

Work haul.  I’d been saving it up for a couple months.  I’ve been waiting for any volume of Blueberry to come in for three years.  I wish someone would license and re-release that series.
