Viz haul, in particularly poor quality. But hooray for that Genbu Kaiden volume, I’ve been waiting for that. Come to think of it, I should start that over at the beginning.
mostly manga and comics, but only if I like it
Christmas haul. I love that my mother got me Tharg’s Creepy Chronicles (which is actually really good! I was worried about the short stories!) and Black Swan Green.
I’ve only got a few more Big Book Ofs to go before I’ve got the whole set. Hooray!
older comic shop haul, and I think the last of the old photos I needed to clear out. A miscellaney, but Jennifer Blood is still my very favorite. Justice League Dark was an impulse, and not one I follow regularly, but I liked it well enough to pick up that older Hellblazer collection.
Work haul. More war comics (one of the smaller purchases I mentioned earlier), but the real find here was that volume of Fresh Pulp. I got it for $.50! Score!
All Man is a great book, too. It’s an art book that chronicles men’s magazines from the 30s-50s. Lots of Ernest Hemingway love in there.
Work haul. Someone sold us every war comic published in the 70s. I let the Marvel and Charleston hoard go, but I had to have me the DC stash. I’ve been buying it in small portions over the past several months. A shame the war stuff didn’t make it with the New 52, but now I have plenty to read. Weird War in particular is the best.
Comic shop run from October again. An off week with only a pile of 2000AD, so I bought some graphic novels. My recent Scalped obsession was fed, but they didn’t have any more in that series. Nor did they have the first Hellblazer collection. Little did I know those were being redone, or I would have held out for the new edition. Blast. And Battlefields, because you can’t go wrong with Garth Ennis and Carlos Esquerra.
Another older comic shop haul from the end of October. Ehh, actually, this might be a partial Quimby’s run, too. I think they had Scalped and that Wally Wood collection.
But all of this is very <3. Ghosts had a variant cover by Brendan McCarthy that I missed out on, but I still got to read the Al Ewing/Rufus Dayglo story in it.
